The unnamed gunman moved through Beam Hall, exchanging gunfire with campus police officers, concluding his attack, as per law enforcement.
Sheriff Kevin McMahill condemned the act as "heinous" and "unforgivable" during a press briefing, expressing the severity of the crime.
At 11:45 a.m., the shooting was reported, with the incident originating on the fourth floor of Beam Hall, stated Sheriff McMahill.
UNLV junior Danny Coleman recounted hearing multiple shots, emphasizing the swift response of the police, who entered and encountered more gunfire.
Police confirmed three fatalities in the shooting at the University of Nevada (UNLV) campus in Las Vegas on Wednesday morning.
UNLV and other institutions under the Southern Nevada System of Higher Education were closed for the remainder of Wednesday in response to the incident.

Mike Henderson, a UNLV student, recounted to ABC News that he was in a hallway when the gunfire began and promptly sought refuge in a nearby classroom.
