Here we are with another awaiting plot! Waiting to read it? It’s about Laura Lynch cause of death! A shocking one indeed!
The Dixie Chicks’ original member Laura Lynch died in a head-on accident near El Paso, Texas, on Saturday, according to authorities. She was sixty-five.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Lynch was driving east on U.S. 62 when an automobile going the other way tried to pass a car on a two-way undivided section of the highway.
It happened on Friday at approximately 5:45 p.m. local time.
The band, which became The Chicks in 2020, expressed their sorrow and sadness at her passing.
“We hold a special place in our hearts for the time we spent playing music, laughing and traveling together,” the band wrote in a statement.
As per the band’s bio on Country Music television, Lynch, who plays upright bass, formed the band in 1989 with three other women, including sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer. Before Lynch departed the group and Natalie Maines took her place, the quartet recorded three albums together, forming the present trio of Maines, Maguire, and Strayer.
In a 1992 interview with Entertainment Tonight, Lynch told director Jim Ruddy the band was a group effort and she “hopes female harmony” makes a big comeback. Lynch discussed how they named the all-female country music band known for its intense harmonies and guitar playing, she said the group was driving around listening to Little Feat and the lyrics had Dixie Chicken in them.
Lynch said it was suggested the band called themselves the Dixie Chickens, but everyone responded “Ooh, I don’t know about being called chickens,” so the girls shortened it to “Dixie Chicks.”
In June 2020, the group rebranded themselves as simply “The Chicks.” After George Floyd was killed, the United States had to face its past of racial injustice, which led to the decision to change its name. The word “Dixie” has frequently referred to the time of slavery.
Lynch was a “bright light,” the band said in a statement they released on Saturday afternoon, adding that “her infectious energy and humor gave a spark to the early days of our band.” Laura was a major contributor to the band’s early success since she had a knack for design and a passion for all things Texas.
